What’s the point of building sites if no-one sees them ? Fun! Sharing! Challenge!
A site doesn’t need to have a commercial purpose to be worthwhile.
I built some tree-houses in 2001 that I was proud of, and back in those earlier days of the Internet I put up a page on treehouses. Over the last 15 years many people have enjoyed the page and even called me for advice. It may only have been a few dozen people a month but those that saw it appreciated it.
I have other sites below that I’ve done primarily to learn web-development techniques, and a few concepts I hope to maybe expand on or have other people do the same. You can read more about my thoughts on each, or follow links from there onto the sites themselves.
